Race Day - WeBe Hare Scrabler

Well....I don't even know how to start this one. This is Keith's 5th race of the season. We debated even till the very day to go or not to go. Finally decided to go ahead so we drove all the way to Page, AZ. 5 hour drive for most but since we took the trailer took us about 6 1/2. Felt like 10 it was so long and the scenery was ugly the whole way after Flagstaff. Anyway, we've never been to Page so we weren't sure what the terrain was going to be like. Turns out it is ALL this fine dirt almost like silt. Worse than sand. See pictures below for more of our adventure............

Still Snow on the mountains in Flagstaff, AZ
This was the only thing the whole way past Flagstaff that was even remotely pretty. Everywhere else on the way looked like nothing but dirt with maybe one tree the whole way....well maybe not one but there was no grass or anything green.
Logan relaxing
This race the kids were able 2 practice so here is Keith practicing...in the awful dirt. He griped for awhile but finally got the hang of it after a couple of crashes. Good thing the dirt was so soft and there was LOTS of it.
Here's the awful dirt.......picture doesn't do it justice. The only way I can think to describe it is it was the consistancy of powder sugar....I know that sounds weird but thats what it reminded me of.....but brown. Could barely walk in it.
The guys walking the track.
Start of race.
Keith racing..........

Here's were it all went bad. Keith was doing good...not podium but upper part of the class when he went in the corner and NOTHING. The bike quit and he couldnt get it started. Levi ran all the way around the track and up the hill (of course he had to be on the top) Still couldnt get it started. So needless to say this is Keith's first DNF. Funny thing is I think Levi jinked us cause he was just telling Keith that morning it would only be a matter of time before something mechanical went wrong...................THANKS DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keith didnt want me to post this one but I had to take it. This is Keith walking back to the trailer very upset and disappointed.Dad pushing the bike back from the trailer....he got his exercise.
Overall we had a safe trip so we thank God for that. Better luck next time. Next race is in Utah he'll miss that one so it wont be until October that he races again. Lots of time to practice over here in the heat. Suppose to be 107 tomorrow....not looking forward to that. Still dont know exactly what is wrong with the bike hopefully nothing to bad. Stay tuned...............................................

Ladies Tea at Church

Below are photo's of the Ladies Tea we had at Church yesterday. They do it every year and this year I decided to do a table. It was a lot of fun and the tables looked great.

This is my table. All the dishes are a set that my dad got for my mom from Germany and she has passed them on to me. You cant see it really well but the centerpiece is a clear glass teapot with jewels in it and it has a light in it. It looked really cool. My mom was so wonderful and made each person at my table a beautiful necklace

Here are some pictures of the other tables.
