Christmas Decorations

Merry Christmas Everyone. Just wanted to share a few pics of our Christmas decorations. I've been asking for a few years for Levi to make a stable for our Nativity set and this year I got one and it turned out great....dont know where we'll put it after Christmas but I love it.
You can't see it really well in these pics but i made a stained glass star and we put a light behind it.
In this one you can see our crosses.

There's Magic In the Air: Monday Challenge

Challenge: Use buttons (I used one button....hope that counts)
Image: Cornucopia
http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com

I really love this image......so much to be Thankful for in my life. God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband and two wonderful boys....... Thank you Lord, I give you all the honor and glory. I only pray that God blesses each of you as he's done my family.

The coloring on this card looks terrible in the pic....I guess that's what I get for waiting until its dark. Do you see a pattern here.....doesn't it look like all my cards look the same. I really need to step out of the box and be more creative.......need more time! There's just not enough hours in the day.

Thought for the day!

We got this in an email a while back and I thought it was really neat so I thought I'd share.

Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff..........including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then he carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

Skillet Concert- October 22nd

Wow....what a concert. I've never been to a Rock concert before. We've been to lots of others but they have all been really mellow. This was definitely not mellow. It was really LOUD. We had so much fun.....even Levi. Although through some of the bands he looked at me and asked what did they say and by the end of the night he kept saying huh....huh....huh.....no just kidding. We can all still hear just not as well as we could before. It was a long night we finally got home a little before 12 and the kids had school....yikes. (sorry teachers)

Anyway here are a few video's of the concert......probably not the kind of music some of you like but we sure liked it.

The venue we were at is called Celebrity Theater and the stage actually turns. Every seat is no more than 75 ft from the stage. Really good place to see a concert.

The Letter Black- This is a great group if you get a chance check them out on i-tunes.

Decyfer Down- This one was a little to much for Levi...I liked them though.

Hawk Nelson- I was surprised by this group. I didn't think I was gonna like them as much as I do. They seemed to have the fan base of a bunch of younger screaming girls...by the sounds of it anyway. In my day the group was New Kids On The Block.......... I'll admit I was probably one of those screaming girls once upon a time.

Skillet- This group rocks. There one of my favorite bands right now. Check out there drummer, she's a girl. She is the one that sings a lot of the girl parts you hear in their songs. Amazes me that she can wail on those drums and you can't even hear a change in her voice.

Quick trip to Payson

Met some friends up in Payson to go dirt bike riding Friday & Saturday. It was a quick trip and a lot warmer during the day than we thought but we had a lot of fun. Here's some pics.......
Trees are turning colors over there and it was so beautiful. I'm sure it doesn't compare to a lot of places back east this time of year but I'll take what I can get.
Here's the motorcycle pics. We did some trail riding but this was a "Perfect Jump" so I think they had more fun here.......not really sure what a perfect jump is but that's what they kept saying.

LONGGGGG Week so far.....................

Ok....so this is my winey post. Started a new job on Monday (well a new job now but went back to an old one...anyway)I'm so exhausted this is the first time in my life that I'm working 4-10's. I think once my body gets used to it I'll be fine but for now.....I'm really tired. I do have Friday's off so that is a HUGE bonus.
(Haven't even done any cards or layouts....you know I"m tired cause I love doing them)

On another note, my boss's husband died and they buried him yesterday. So all you prayer warriers please say an extra prayer for her. My heart has really been heavy for her.

Ok its late and I'm passed my new bedtime....11:00 doesn't work anymore.

Have a good rest of the week!

There's Magic In The Air-Monday Challenge

http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com/
Challenge:  Use the colors black, orange & one other color of your choice.
Image:   Mouse Candy

Is it time for another TMITA Challenge, Wow the week just goes by to quickly!
I just love this image, Nina over at There's Magic In The Air offers free digi images every Monday.  If you haven't already stopped by her blog check it out and snag the image for the week, you won't be dissappointed.  The challenge this week was to use black, orange and a color of your choice.  The color I used was green (I'm a big fan of green....my favorite color)  I didn't want to use too much so I just stacked the papers so you could see a small frame on the outside.  I'm not sure if you can tell or not but the orange has green behind them also.  I really had a lot of fun coloring this image.  I've been trying to improve every week with the shading....what do you think....Getting better???

That's all for today. Have a wonderful rest of the week.....see you in the next post.

Mojo Monday-107

There are so many wonderful blogs out there with some very talented people.  One of those is Mojo Monday Sketch blog, you can find then at http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/.  Each week offers a new sketch so this week I thought I'd try and see what I could come up with.

Here is my card.....I wanted to follow the sketch but make it original and not look like it was an exact duplicate.  So I decided instead of the circle in the middle I would add the flower without a circle background.  I also didn't want to use brads for the dots so instead I just punched holes and then added the red paper in the inside of the card so you could see the color when the card was closed.  I went back & forth trying to decide if a sentiment was needed but just couldnt find the right spot for it so it got left off.  Anyway.....thats my card.  Hope your having a wonderful week so far.

There's Magic In The Air-Monday Challenge

http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com/
Challenge: Make It Sparkle
Image: Dancing Hearts

We went to a wedding a few weeks back and there colors were red/black. So that's were I got the inspiration for this card. Something is missing though.......any help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

Here is a close up of the card. I almost didn't do the challenge because I don't have glitter glue or stickles but I improvised and used some glitter cardstock that I had for the shelf. I'm not sure if you can tell but that's were my sparkle comes in.

Butterfly Challenge

I've been trying for days to get this layout uploaded for the Butterfly Challenge over at Scrap-A-Little http://www.scrap-a-little.com/ It just doesn't seem like there is enough hours in the day to do all I want or need to do.

The challenge was to create a card or layout using butterflies. It could be one or several and you could use stickers, stamps, rub ons etc. There was also a template provided that gave several different butterflies if you wanted to use it. Here's what I came up with:

I wanted to do a layout that reflected fall. When I think of fall I always think relaxing beautiful cool weather. The sentiment "lazy days" was perfect for what I had pictured in my head. Fall is probably my favorite season....so what do, I do I move to Arizona were the only season we have is summer. Record heat yesterday at 107 and suppose to be another hot day today at 106....Can't complain to much when a lot of people are digging out of snow were enjoying beautiful weather. Anyway......back to the layout. The green on here is a little deceiving it actually is darker than the picture is showing.

Here is a close up of the ribbon. I used a rust ribbon straight down the side and then tide in a cheater bow that had fall colors.

For the butterfly I used a pattern that I had for stained glass. Cut out 2 of them, colored, added jewels and stuck them together so that it actually looks like the butterfly is flying.

Hope you like what I came up with. If you have a chance check out Helen's blog (Scrap A Little) http://www.scrap-a-little.com/ she has some great tutorials for butterflies, bows and flowers.
