My Other Hobby

Some of you know and some don't but my other hobby is stained glass. When we lived in Clovis, NM we had this round window in our laundry room that you could see from the front of our house and I always said that it would look so pretty if it was stained glass. So when we moved back to Mesa, AZ Levi was going to work one day and right by his work there was a stained glass store that just opened. I decided to take a class and now 2 yrs later I have made it a hobby.

Here are some pieces I've done....in no particular order.....just uploaded all of them. (well not all because some were the 1st ones and they look like they were the 1st ones so I left them out) I don't have very many pieces that I've kept, most were made as gifts. I've tried to keep pictures of everything I've done but there are a few things out there that I didn't take pics of.

This is my very first piece that I did in class.
This was a cross I made for Levi
I took a lead class not too long ago and this is my first lead piece.

A present for a friend -Pumpkin candle holder.
Candle holder-Autumn leaves
Present for Logan's 2nd grade teacher
Present for a friend-Snowflake
Present for my Mom & Robert-Nativity
Present for my brother- Harley Davidson Logo w/Eagle
Present for my sister- Flower (that's what it looks like to me)
B-day present for Levi- Guitar

This started out to be a present....but then I changed my mind and kept it for myself.....awful I know and I definitely wont say who it was for.
Present for my In-Laws- Deer
Well that is it......I'm currently working on another one that is about 1/2 done and then I might have another project after that. I'll post them if they get done.

Camping & Fishing at Willow Springs Lake Payson, AZ

Since it has been so hot lately we decided to try and get out of the heat for a couple of days. We went up to Willow Springs Lake which is by Payson, AZ. Still warm up there but nothing compared to here. Quick trip but we had a lot of fun.

Me & the boys by the campfire......of course as you can see I'm the only one wearing a jacket. I'm the only one that thought it was cold at night.
Logan's catch of the day.....you can barely see it but its a crawdad. He didn't want to have any part in getting his picture taken and I of course wouldn't get close enough to that ugly thing to get a good pic.
We proved Levi's theory about AZ lakes wrong. Levi thinks there are no fish in the lakes/rivers here in AZ......well look what we have here. Keith caught one.....ok don't laugh so there may be fish in the lakes but can something that small really count???? Looks more like bait.

Here's another one of Keith's catches.....probably the biggest of the day.

I actually was the first one to catch a fish but as we were getting the camera out he slipped out of Logan's hands so we actually don't have evidence that I did. We had so much fun that we'll probably be going back this weekend....maybe we'll have better luck.

Another Project

Since it's been so hot here in AZ.....113 today. We haven't done any riding or much of anything outside. We did however get Keith's motorcycle back from the shop so we'll have to break that in one of these days. Not looking forward to being out in the heat for that......Anyway in the meantime I thought I'd entertain everyone by showing what projects I've been doing. My latest is a picture frame using canvas.

I took 2 canvas and attached them together with hinges. Added a door handle to go along with the saying "Open door to my Heart" You cant see it in the picture very well but the frame around the saying is actually green. I found this really neat paper that is black and you can sand or tear it and its a different color underneath. Added ribbon and bling and here is the front.

Another pic of the front.....for some reason the glare was terrible when I was taking these pics so this is the best I could get.

Here is the inside........On one side there is LOVE (close-up in next pic) and then on the other side it says like there's no tomorrow. (Love like there's no tomorrow) For the inside I just added ribbon, flowers buttons and I had to add the motorcycle on the kids side.
That's all for now....hope you liked. Maybe if we can brave the heat I'll have pics of Keith breaking in his bike.

Cute project

I saw this cut project on a website and one of my nephews just had a birthday and another will have a birthday in a few days.......of course I'm late for both. I thought I'd make one for all and then send gift cards for the birthday ones.

This is a close up of Logan's. I took a pack of gum...you have to pick just the right kind. I picked Orbitz because of the size and shape. Online this is a Valentine's Day thing using the candy hearts. I wrapped paper around just like you would with a present and then online used their template for the circle. I had to make my own screen because theirs didn't fit. Yarn was used for the cord and then I used kisses for the earbuds. I wrapped the kisses in foil so I could attach the yarn. Put them in the clear plastic candy bags you usually use for birthday parties and then made the label.

Here is a picture of all of them together. Hope all the kids like them.
